Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, meet your guide for a city tour of Kigali, including the Genocide Memorial Museum. After lunch, drive to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze, where you’ll check into your lodge and prepare for the gorilla trekking adventure.
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules. Set off on a guided trek through the dense forests in search of a mountain gorilla family. Spend one magical hour observing the gorillas up close before trekking back. In the afternoon, enjoy optional activities such as visiting the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village for a cultural immersion.

Gorilla trekking requires moderate physical fitness, as the trek can take 2 to 6 hours depending on the gorilla family's location.
The permit includes the cost of a guided trek, park fees, and one hour with a mountain gorilla family.
Pack sturdy hiking boots, long trousers, gloves, a rain jacket, insect repellent, and a camera with no flash.
The dry seasons from June to September and December to February are the best times for gorilla trekking.
Children under 15 years old are not allowed to participate in gorilla trekking.
