Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Moshi

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll transfer to your hotel in Moshi. Meet your guide for a pre-trek briefing and equipment check.

Day 2: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

Start the trek from Marangu Gate (1,870m). Walk through the lush rainforest to reach Mandara Hut (2,720m). This 8km hike takes around 4–6 hours. Overnight at Mandara Hut.

Day 3: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

Trek through moorland to Horombo Hut (3,720m). The 11km hike takes 6–8 hours, with views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. Overnight at Horombo Hut.

Day 4: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

Continue your journey to Kibo Hut (4,703m). The trek covers 9km in about 6–8 hours. Pass through the Saddle, a high-altitude desert.

Day 5: Summit to Uhuru Peak and Descend

Begin the final ascent at midnight. Reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m) at sunrise, then descend to Horombo Hut for rest.

Day 6: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate
